Maskssssss

If masks are no longer mandatory in certain contexts, but you choose to still wear one and just pull it down over your nose - yet you don't pull your pants up but poke your dick out or put a bra on and poke your tits out - why?! Imagine being that half arsedly committed to anarchy. Anarchy if no-one is looking. Anarchy if 'the man' says you can. Anarchy if that suits everyone else today, if not, tomorrow is fine? JUST WEAR YOUR MASK PROPERLY; I HAD A GERM OCD BEFORE THIS AND THE LAST 18 OR SO MONTHS HAVE. NOT. HELPED. Wear one or do not wear one. Just don't try to be clever about going with the flow. You can't sit on the fence here, you've got to pick a side. It's doing my damn head in.

From annoyed to pretty friggin peeved

There's a post on here from May 2010, harking back to my student days (*sob* Sadly I'm a proper grown up now*) where I rant about missing a play. Perhaps it sounds a bit petty? But what if I point out that they were really good seats in a little theatre? In a play called 'Posh', which it turns out had Kit Harington in it. I could have been inches away from Jon Snow. This will never be okay.

*Should anyone ever read this who has yet to become a proper grown up, rather than a student in some form or other then my advice is this:do. not. bother. Once the fleeting novelty of office chic and stationery cupboards has worn off it is craaaap.

to tweet or not to tweet...

I'm getting so fed up of people walking straight at me or walking into me because they're plodding along playing with their phones. I want to smack their hands from the underneath so their phone goes flying and that text/tweet/facebook status they were in the middle of, which I'm sure not nothing dull or mundane like 'lol in ldn. is kwl. lol' becomes lost to the world.

That said you've got to be pretty dim to wander around central London and not pay attention to where you're going so this perhaps is Dawrinism at its finest. I think fairly soon the sight of people floating down the Thames frantically texting/tweeting/whatever 'is it rainin cuz im all wet now??but forgot my brolly.not lolz.' will become a common sight.

There's no such thing as a quick trip to Covent Garden...

At the weekend I had the bright idea to just 'pop down' to Covent Garden to pick up a blouse I've had my eye on for a while. Not the best idea. For one I always end up coming back having spent a lot more than I planned to, mostly on things I don't need. Also, as far as slow moving crowds go this place must be beaten only by Oxford Street.

There are crowds outside the tube stop, further down there are people randomly stopping to take pictures and around the square there are huge crowds surrounding the street performers. I don't know how the people who work there cope; I get stressed enough just cutting through there. I don't think I could face having to do it at least twice a day.

A insanely crowded Covent Garden - for as much as I love it, it's places like this that made me the misanthrope I am today...
The crowds around there are so big it's not just a case of cutting through them, if you try that you could well end up just trapped in the middle of one and they're so spread out that it's difficult to get around them too. The ever popular 'excuse me, please' just gets disgruntled looks and shrugs in response.

Maybe they should have one side of the piazza filled with street performers and the other side empty for people to cut through? I know that'd suit me better and that way we'd have the best of both worlds.

To be fair I am a fast walker, whenever I go out anywhere I don't bumble, I'm practically on a full blown mission to get there and get back A.S.A.P. Even if I'm on holiday I can't quite get into the 'I'll take my time' mentality that a lot of people seem to have.

I do understand that Covent Garden is a lovely place with a great atmosphere, I fully get why people want to stop and take that in, I just wish they weren't doing so in front of me.
